KAHRAMAA has been expanding the electricity network to meet the growing demand for high-quality, sustainable electricity. Extensive operations can be a challenge for locking and access control.
Starting point
Starting point
KAHRAMAA had different master key systems for each power station. A large number of keys and difficult to manage. The wrong personnel kept entering the wrong areas. KAHRAMAA wanted to use the existing card system.
How could we improve access management in a way that would improve security, operational efficiency and convenience – and stand the test of time?
The collaboration extended to the water sector in 2019.
The objective of the collaboration was to secure mega water reservoirs. The largest drinking water storage tank has a capacity of 430,000 cubic meters.
We provided the TESA SMARTair i-Gate solution, and integrated it with KAHRAMAA’s access control and card system. The wireless, electronic IP68 padlock is easy to install and operate, and it can withstand the harshest of conditions.
Ongoing cooperation
ALCEA is now working on fine-grained control with rich routing rules, retries and fault injection to secure the mechanical keys of the electricity primary and distribution substations.
The ALKEY key management system by ALCEA lets you centralize the management of an unlimited number of key cabinets. Every resource is associated with an RFID keychain. All in a secure cabinet.
